Ingredients
1 kg Brussel Sprouts
2 Tbsp Manuka Honey MGO 30
Salt and Pepper
1 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar or Balsamic Glaze
6 Rashers Bacon
A sprinkle of Sesame seeds or Flaked Almonds (Optional)
Method
- Cut the stalks off the bottom of each Brussel and remove any leaves that are peeling away or loose. If any of the sprouts are a lot bigger than others, cut those in half to ensure they cook evenly. Rinse to remove any dirt that may be on them.
- Partly cook the sprouts either in a saucepan of water or steamed in the microwave until tender but not overcooked – as they will be finished off in a frypan. Drain and then season the sprouts with salt and pepper.
- In a large frypan, cook the bacon rashers. Remove and cut into bite size pieces. Heat the honey and the balsamic in the same frypan and stir to combine. Add the brussels sprouts and the chopped bacon and stir through to coat with the glaze.
- To serve you may like to finish with sesame seeds or a scattering of flaked almonds.
